Missing Benton Co. Child Found

BENTON COUNTY, Tenn.- A 4-year-old boy reported missing in Benton County has been found in Michigan and is now in protective custody. According to the Benton County Sheriff’s Department, Ayden Smith was found in Sandusky, Michigan, early Monday morning. US Marshals in Michigan arranged with members of the family who took Smith to meet them at the Sanilac County Jail and turn the child over. Authorities said this weekend that Smith had last been seen with his non-custodial mother, Jessica Coleman, near Big Sandy on October 4. He was not returned to his father after that visitation. A custodial interference warrant was issued for Coleman and the child’s grandmother Victoria Culvahouse. The mother and grandmother are expected to return to Benton County some time Monday.
