New Marker Placed to Honor M.D. Anderson

JACKSON, Tenn.- A new marker has arrived in downtown Jackson and honors a prominent businessman from the Hub City. The new marker is now located between the Federal Building and the Federal Courthouse on South Highland at Baltimore Street. It honors M.D. Anderson, a successful businessman and philanthropist from Jackson. Crews were out with cranes this afternoon placing the 11-foot marker in its new home. Officials said a 9-foot monolith has been ordered and expect it to arrive sometime in December of January.
