Early Voting Begins in Chester County

HENDERSON, Tenn. – Today was the first day that registered voters in Tennessee could walk in and vote before Election Day. For the first time in 40 years voters will decide if package stores can sell alcohol in the city of Henderson. A liquor referendum to permit package stores to sell alcohol in Chester County is also on the ballot. Additionally, there is a wheel tax referendum that would raise the wheel tax from $65.35 to $95.00 on the ballot. “In so many countries that I have been in like Iraq, Iran, Afghanistan, Syria these people are told what to do unlike Americans. We have a voice that can be heard through our vote,” said Henderson resident Audria Reeves. According to Chester County Election officials, this was the largest turnout for the start of early voting ever. Early voting ends November 1st. Election day is set for November 6th.
