Carbon Monoxide Death
Frankfort County authorities say a man found dead in an outbuilding died of apparent carbon monoxide poisoning. Kenneth Witten had been staying in a building behind a mobile home in a rural part of the county, near the Henry County line. Sheriff Pat Melton says Witten was found unresponsive in the shed on Tuesday evening. Detectives found the valve of a propane heater in the building was turned on, but there was no flame. An official cause of the 41-year-old Witten’s death is pending, but the evidence points to carbon monoxide: an odorless, colorless, tasteless gas that comes from combustion.
