Library Fundraiser Held In Downtown Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Jackson-Madison County Library Foundation hosted its “Books of Madison County” fundraiser, Thursday evening. The $45 a ticket event was held in two locations. At the library, attendees were able to talk one-on-one with local authors. About 20 writers from West Tennessee were available to talk about their works and their inspirations. Organizers say the event benefits both book lovers and the library. “We desperately need additional funds,” said Elaine Christian, President of the Jackson-Madison County Library Foundation. She added the library has seen budget cuts from both the city and the county. “We’re struggling to keep the library open longer,” she added. The “Books of Madison County” fundraiser also included a catered dinner inside the new Lower Larue banquet facility, which is inside the new apartment housing complex, The Suites of Larue.
