‘Trunk-or-Treat’ Event Held in North Jackson

JACKSON, Tenn.- If you noticed you did not have as many ‘trick-or-treaters’ as you might have expected Halloween night, there was a good reason. Most of them were at the Jackson-Madison County sponsored ‘Trunk-or-Treat’ event at North Side High School. Organizers estimated at least 7,000 people participated in the hours-long event, with little ghosts and gobblins getting their fill of ‘treats’. Many parents told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News the event was a safer alternative that going door-to-door. “Not having to worry about cars and crossing streets and going through different neighborhoods not knowing if it’s a bad neighborhood or a good neighborhood or anything like that,” said Racheal Conley, a trick-or-treat mom. “We know where everybody’s at and they’re safe. the kids are safe and having a good halloween,” said Debbie Transou, a trick-or-treat grandma. WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News Meteorologist Tom Meiners joined in the festivities, handing out candy from the back of the station’s live truck. More than 20 different groups participated in this ‘Trunk-or-Treat’ event.
