Fugitive Arraigned on Additional Charges

JACKSON, Tenn. – A Jackson man appeared in Madison County General Sessions Court on additional charges, Tuesday. Grady Dewayne Carroll, 33, was arraigned on charges of evading arrest, driving on a revoked license, and two counts of reckless endangerment. According to Madison County Sheriff, David Woolfork, on Oct. 30, investigators attempted to apprehend Carroll at the Fuel City on East Chester Street on a felony warrant. Carroll allegedly tried to flee in a vehicle, and, during the incident, investigators said Carroll‘s car struck one of the investigators and dragged him. One of the deputies shot Carroll during the incident. The investigation into the shooting is being conducted by the TBI and is ongoing. Carroll was taken to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital, and later flown to the Med in Memphis where he was treated. The sheriff‘s deputy suffered minor injuries. Carroll’s bond remained at $100,000. His preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 13.
