JACKSON, Tenn.- Union University hosted its 10th annual Campus and Community Day, a day set aside to remember and serve through community projects throughout the area. WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News caught up with the group in south Jackson as they dedicated their day to building a ramp for a man who relies on a power chair to get in and out of his home. The work crews, made up of students, faculty ans staff, began Tuesday morning at 8:30 with a chapel service before they spread out to locations to help others. “There’s a lot going on out here so it makes me feel really good to see that people still care,” said Rebecca Craft, a service recipient’s daughter. Union said the day works as a reminder of not only God’s protection during past tornadoes that have hit the campus, but as an opportunity to say ‘thank you’ top the community who have helped Union after each of the storms.
