JMCSS Deputy Superintendent to Retire

JACKSON, Tenn. – After three and a half years of work in the Jackson-Madison County School System, Deputy Superintendent,Doris Battle has announced her retirement. Battle told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News that she has been an educator for more than three decades. She said she remembers starting off at the bottom and is proud of how far she has come. Even though she is walking away from the district office, she said she would like to continue teaching, possibly at the college level. Battle said her options are endless. Battle told WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News she is proud of her work throughout the district. She said, “I think back of when I arrived here in 2009 and the team that I worked with. Most of us came in 2009 and to think of all the things we have done as a team… it makes me proud to say that I end my career in Jackson-Madison County.” Battle will finish up the year as Deputy Superintendent on December 31.
