Student Dies after Medical Crisis on Bus

JACKSON, Tenn. – School system officials report a Jackson-Madison County School student died, Wednesday morning. According to a news release, the Northeast Middle School student died after suffering a medical crisis of unknown origin while riding a school bus. The student was accompanied on the bus by his private-duty nurse who immediately began CPR. Officials stated that the student was transported by ambulance to Jackson-Madison County General Hospital where he was later pronounced dead. The driver and a special education assistant were also on the bus and rendered aid. The student’s name is being withheld at this time.
