JACKSON, Tenn. – Five organizations in Jackson who call themselves “Christmas Partners” have joined forces to help those in need this Holiday Season. They are collecting food and toys to give away to West Tennesseans struggling to make ends meet. Students of Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ High School spent part of their day, Friday, boxing up the donations. Area Relief Ministries, The Salvation Army, Knights of Columbus, Toys for Tots and the United Way have collected more than $100,000 in food and toys. Sacred Heart students said they were just glad they could help. “It’s a great feeling because you know you’re helping somebody,” said senior Bethany Hayden. “We’re giving them a Christmas, which is great to do.” Organizers said 450 families will receive the care packages, this year. They will start delivering them, next week.
