One Arrested, One Wanted in Shooting on Gordon

JACKSON, Tenn. – One man has been arrested and another wanted in connection with the shooting that injured a woman near downtown, Thursday night. Jackson police arrested Victor Clark shortly before noon, Friday. Officers saw Clark, 18, driving and pulled him over on the 1000 block of North Highland Avenue. He was taken into custody and arrested on charges of attempted first degree murder and aggravated criminal trespass. He will be formally charged, Monday. Police are seeking a second man in connection with the shooting. Kentavis Jones, 21, is wanted on the same two charges. He is also wanted on unrelated charges of evading arrest and violation of probation out of Madison County Circuit Court, Division II. Jones is 5 feet, 8 inches and 140 pounds. His last known address is in Lincoln Courts, but he is known to frequent the Gordon Street area. At 8:22 p.m. Thursday police were called about a shooting on the 300 block of Gordon Street. During the investigation, police discovered that multiple shots were fired into a home. A 22 year-old woman was shot in the hand.
