Caleb Mullins Arraigned on Murder Charge

JACKSON, Tenn. – The man accused of killing his aunt in her Jackson home in November faced a judge in Jackson City Court, Wednesday morning. Caleb Mullins is charged with second degree murder, tampering with evidence and theft of property over $10,000 in connection with the murder of the suspect’s aunt, Karen Mullins. She was found dead in her home on November 11 after Jackson police officers went to check on her welfare. According to court documents, Karen Mullins died as a result of multiple stab wounds and officers determined during the investigation that Caleb Mullins lived with her. When he was interviewed by investigators, Caleb Mullins allegedly confessed to the crime and said he stabbed his aunt during an argument. Caleb Mullins was arrested on November 12 in Louisville, Kentucky. He waived his right to an extradition hearing last week and was returned to Jackson, Tuesday evening. Bond was set at $500,000 for Caleb Mullins.
