UPDATE: According to Dyersburg Police a 15 year old girl has been arrested for making threats aganist Dyersburg Primary and Intermediate. DPD says she will be charged with 2 counts of false reporting. DYER COUNTY, Tenn. – Dyersburg Primary and Intermediate were on lock-down for more than an hour after someone called making threats against the buildings. “I went to pick up my daughter. The things that happened Friday just kinda scare me,” said parent Brittney Clinton. This is not the first time a Dyersburg School has been threatened with violence. Back in November, Dyersburg Intermediate School received a similar call. Clinton said her daughter really did not know what was happening, “She said, ‘Mom, some man called my school and threatened it.’ That’s all she said. She’s not shook up, it just shook me up.” Dyersburg Police responded to both calls and said they found nothing suspicious on either school campus. Although the schools were checked out and cleared, some parents picked up their children from school early. “After Friday, it kinda opened my eyes that I need to be more careful and take the steps needed to make sure shes safe. Schools don’t feel safe right now to me,” said Clinton. Dyersburg’s police chief said his department is actively investigating the threats.
