JACKSON, Tenn.- One local organization that works to help families and children year round put the smiles on faces, Thursday. The toys being handed out out came from the “Angel Tree” program through the local Salvation Army. Some of the hundreds of toys were given by private donors. Around 200 Jackson families are getting toys that are lighting up the faces of children just in time for Christmas. “It definitely goes with the spirit of Christmas. Christmas is definitely about giving and being kind to others,” said Kathryn Jones, a single parent. The Salvation Army has been distributing toys from “Angel Tree” donations since 1955.
