JACKSON, Tenn – Santa Claus surprised kids in an unusual place on Monday, at a BP gas station on Old Hickory Boulevard. According to Santa, he woke up in the morning and decided to spread Christmas cheer to his fellow West Tennesseans. Onlookers honked their horns at the waving Santa who stood outside of BP handing out candy canes from his red velvet bag. Some parents even brought their kids by the gas station to take pictures. Santa said making children happy is what Christmas is about. “Some kids didn’t get to see Santa, so this is a good surprise for them,” said Santa. He arrived at the BP gas station around 9 a.m., and said he planned to stay until late in the afternoon greeting kids outside. Santa said he plans to surprise kids at more locations in the future.
