JACKSON, Tenn. – The Kiwanis Club of Jackson is reaching out to children in need this holiday season. On Thursday, the group donated $1,100 worth of food – hams, chicken, vegetables, juice and crackers – to Operation Hope. It is a local non-profit organization that reaches out to children and families in the West Jackson area. Members said they hope their donation helps a lot of people. “As a Kiwanian, we help children. And for us to be given the opportunity to support another organization that helps children, it’s right in line with what our organization does, so it brings us a lot of joy,” said Greg Griffin, Kiwanis Club of Jackson president. The food will feed kids in Operation Hope’s after school programs, and help families who need supplemental food once a month.
