Car Destroyed In Crash with Hardeman County School Bus

BOLIVAR, Tenn- A Bolivar man is in critical condition after a violent car crash with a school bus on Highway 18, just north of Bolivar. Hardeman County bus driver, James Spencer, said he was on his usual bus route, Monday morning when he stopped to pick up more kids. He said once he stopped, he heard a loud crash from the back of the bus. Officers say a 25-year old man was behind the wheel of the car that slammed into the bus. The car ended up lodged underneath from the strong impact. Spencer said once he got off the bus, he knew the car’s driver was hurt and immediately called for help. The driver was cut from the car and airlifted to The Med in Memphis. No children were injured and Spencer was got them off the bus safely. “Underneath the bus, you saw fluids running. I didn’t know if there would be an explosion. So I just wanted to get the kids in a safe position,” said Spencer. No information has been released about the cause of the crash.
