“Farmerican Idol” Names Winner of Competition

HUNTINGDON, Tenn.- Some of the area’s best talent was showcased Monday night and in the end, it all came down to one winner. You might call it country boys and girls getting down on the farm, but in reality radio station 100.9 FM, “The Farm” held their version on “American Idol”. Called “Farmerican Idol”, the winner was chosen for their singing talent. One of the guest judges at the event was Country legend, Colin Raye. The competition came down to five finalists, but judges chose Reese Hopper, 15, of Huntingdon, and a sophomore at Huntingdon High School as this year’s winner. Hopper, who has been a contestant four times said this win will definitely help her pursue her dream of a professional singing career. “I hope that my music ability progresses and I give all the glory to God.I thank him for everything, I mean I just hope that I get better and better and that one day I’m bigger,” said Reese Hopper, winner of the 2013 “Farmerican Idol” competition. Hopper won by just one point and received $1,500 in prize money and a 10-hour session in a recording studio, where she can record three song demos. By the way, she said she was giving the $1,500 to her dad so he can buy her a car when she turns 16.
