Henry County Sheriff’s Department Interrupt Apparent Prescription Drug Deal

PARIS, Tenn- A Henry County Sheriff’s deputy interrupted what is believed to be a prescription drug deal, on Friday. According to deputies, George Edward Armstrong, 69, and Johnny Wayne Taylor, 39, were sitting in a car at a parking lot on Highway 79, northeast of Paris, when deputies approached them. Police recovered 59 hydrocodone pills and more than $500 in cash. Armstrong was charged with possession of a Schedule III drug with intent to sell, manufacture or deliver. Taylor was arrested for simple possession of a Schedule III drug. Investigators said neither men had a prescription for the drugs. They were both released on bond, and scheduled to appear in court on March 28.
