Weekend Murder in Savannah under Investigation

SAVANNAH, Tenn. – The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation is looking into a weekend murder in Savannah. According to a TBI spokesperson, the victim was 71-year-old Peggy Alexander. A family member reportedly found Alexander dead in her home on Pickwick Road. Investigators have not released a cause of death but did send the body to the medical examiner‘s office for an autopsy. They believe the killer attempted to conceal the crime by starting a fire, but was unsuccessful. The District Attorney’s Office requested the TBI join the investigation with the Savannah Police Department and Hardin County Sheriff’s Office. As of Monday morning, no one has been charged in connection with the homicide.
