D.A. Requsting Teen Suspect be Transferred to Adult Court

JACKSON, Tenn.- WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News has learned prosecutors plan to charge the 15-year-old accused in a Saturday night shooting in west Jackson as an adult. He was in juvenile court, Monday for his detention hearing on two counts of attempted murder. The judge ordered he remain in custody. Just after 9:30 p.m., police were called to apartments on Old Hickory Boulevard where they found a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to his side. Investigators determined the shooting stemmed from a fight earlier in the day. Officers said the 15-year-old also shot at a 20-year-old man, who was not hit. The 16-year-year old victim remained hospitalized.
