Former Correctional Officer and Civilian Appear in Court

TRENTON, Tenn.- A former correctional officer and another appeared in court accused of trying to bring contraband into jail. Jessica Worrell, 18, plead guilty to a misdemeanor and was assessed a fine. Sherry Worrell, 48, waived her right to preliminary hearing and her case will be heard by a grand jury. The third person charged in the case, Austin Woolfork, 29, is scheduled for his preliminary hearing next week. Woolfork and Worrell were fired from their jobs with the Gibson County Sheriff’s Department in February as a result of the investigation.
