Experts: Weather Patterns Six Weeks Behind Normal

JACKSON Tenn.- Five days into the official start to spring, temperatures outside feel more like winter. Experts say weather patterns are weeks behind a normal schedule. “You just don’t know how to dress anymore,” shopper Ray Terry said while bundled up in a coat and gloves. Most of the South is experiencing these below average temperatures, many 10 to 20 degrees below what’s expected this time of year. “I’m pretty sad. I’m a nanny so that means me and the kids will be inside all day and it’s spring break,” Hayley O’Day said. Meteorologists say March felt more like February, and April will feel more like March. Experts say that doesn’t mean it will be cold all the time, we will just see a few more chilly days that normal. “I think it’s just typical Tennessee weather. You never know what you are going to get,” said O’Day. A slow spring is expected to arrive throughout April. That means, if you are spring cleaning for spring break, don’t put the winter coats up just yet!
