JACKSON, Tenn.–Police are investigating two armed robberies in north Jackson. Officers said the robberies happened within minutes of each other. “They was like walking around saying did you see some person running through here,” said Jose Perez, a neighbor. Police said two people, possibly three, robbed a man at the La Quinta Inn on North Highland Avenue around 9 p.m., Wednesday. “They chased the vehicle,” said Lt. Mike Johnson, with the Jackson Police Department. “The vehicle ended up crashing somewhere in front of the Rolling Acres Trailer Park.” Officers believed the suspects abandoned the car and took off on foot. Investigators said minutes later, another man at the mobile home park was robbed at gunpoint. “Because of the economy the way it is and everything everybody‘s going out just being you know, just being crazy,” said Roy Kinnon, a neighbor. Police said the suspects stole jewelry from the man at the hotel and cash from the man at Rolling Acres. Investigators believed the robberies could be connected. “The same guys that done the robbery at La Quinta are gonna be the same ones at Rolling Acres,” said Lt. Johnson. “I don‘t know that for a fact, but I think that‘s what it‘s gonna end up being.” Rolling Acres residents want the suspects behind bars. “If I could I would get out, I‘m about ready to leave here,” said Kinnon. Officers believed two black men and one white man could be involved. Police said one of the suspects had on a gray shirt and black sweatpants. If you have information about the robberies call the Jackson Police Department at (731) 425-8400 or Crimestoppers at 424-TIPS.
