Charge Reduced in Child Neglect Case

LEXINGTON, Tenn. – The charge against a Henderson County woman originally accused of nearly killing her baby has been reduced. According to the Henderson County General Sessions Court Clerk‘s Office, Nakeitha Bonner appeared in court Tuesday for a preliminary hearing. At the end of the hearing, the felony charge was amended to a misdemeanor child neglect charged. She was ordered to pay a $10 fine and court costs. Bonner was issued a suspended sentence of 11 months and 29 days in jail. She will have to serve supervised probation until she pays the fine and costs or until the time length for the sentence is completed.
