JACKSON, Tenn.-Anthony Anderson was handcuffed watching on a television screen listening to the judge. He was sent to jail with the help a viewer watching WBBJ 7 Eyewitness News. “In this particular case the media aired the story from a previous investigation and a new victim came forward and reported it to the police department,” said Investigator Dennis Ballentine from the Jackson Police Department. Anderson was charged last week with solicitation involving a 15-year-old girl. The new charges are statutory rape by an authority figure and sexual exploitation of a minor and involved a 17-year-old girl. “They are very clear it is illegal for an adult eighteen or older to be involved in a sexual relationship with a minor,” said Ballentine. According to the affidavit, the 25-year-old sent nude images of himself to the 17-year-old who is a student at Jackson Central-Merry High School. Anderson also asked for and received nude pictures of the student. Police said the two met at her house where the girl performed oral sex on him. Investigators seized Anderson’s computer where he lives at Northridge Apartments. “The best preventative measure for your child being a victim of a predator is education as well as monitoring closely what your children are doing on social media such as Facebook, Twitter and the like,” said Ballentine. According to the affidavit , Anderson was aware of her age prior to any of the sexually explicit conversation or the sex act. “We are finding that it is an addiction even if the predators wanted to stop they are unable to based on the need to fulfil that addiction,” said Ballentine. His bond was set at $100,000 and was ordered to have no contact with the girl. Anderson is due back in court on April 18.
