Casey Jones Museum Staffers to Retire

Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum has announced the retirement of Executive Director, Lawrence Taylor, and his wife, Norma Taylor, the Casey Jones Museum Historian effective Monday, April 15th. Mr. Taylor is retiring after 35 years of service and Mrs. Taylor has worked with him for 18 years in the day to day operation of Casey Jones Museum. Lawrence and Norma both grew up in Jackson and graduated from Jackson High School and Lambuth College. Lawrence was a sales representative for H.T. Ardinger for twenty years. He has been with the Old Country Store organization since it was located on Airways and then moved to Casey Jones Village 35 years ago in 1978 when he became a co-owner and stockholder. Lawrence has been active in the tourism industry and served a term as president of the Tennessee Hotel-Motel Association among other tourism involvement through the years. Norma is a former school teacher and in 2011 authored and published a book on the life of Casey Jones entitled “Casey Jones – The Legend Lives On.” Lawrence and Norma have made a great team at Casey Jones Museum. They also both served on the planning committee for the major 8,000 square foot “Train Station” expansion of Casey Jones Museum that opened in 2009. Their son, Mark, and daughter-in-law, Jill, have two children. We wish the Taylors the very best as they retire and thank them for their many years of service.
