Rose Hill Middle Students Show Off “Up Cycled” Fashion

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn.-Rose Hill Middle School presented a trashion show. Not fashion, but “trashion.” The clothing for the show was all recycled materials. Students created clothing using everything from plastic bags, to paper plates and even soda cans. There were 11 girls in the show, ranging from the 6th to 8th grades. Organizers said this project was to show students how to work together and be creative. “I hope that they’ve enjoyed working together because they’ve had to work in groups on these outfits, they’ve had to come up with their own ideas it’s something that brings out their creativity not mine,” said Patricia Ayers, art instructor at Rose Hill Middle School. The program also included a musical featuring songs by George M. Cohen called “45 Minutes to Broadway” performed by the drama department.
