TN Recognizes Work Zone Awareness Week

JACKSON, Tenn.- Monday marked the first day of Work Zone Awareness week in Tennessee. TDOT will spread that message across the state this week in an effort to improve safety in construction and maintenance work zones. During the spring and summer crews are especially busy. TODT’s SmartWay app can be a helpful tool for drivers, giving them advance notice of construction zones, scheduled work hours and information about available alternate routes. Last year in Tennessee , of the 12 people who died in work zone crashes, nine were either drivers of vehicle passengers and three were construction workers.
