Memphis teens rescue children from burning house

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – Neighborhood teenagers have rescued two children from a burning Memphis home.

According to The Commercial Appeal (http://bit.ly/18180Vq ), the rescued children and their mother were taken to hospitals to be treated for smoke inhalation Thursday, but none were critically injured.

Authorities said 15-year-old Banderas Walker and 19-year-old Michael Ellis pulled the children to safety through windows. Zachary Thomas ran inside to search for the children, unaware they had been pulled to safety. He was not seriously hurt.

Thomas said he was walking home when he saw his pregnant neighbor on her lawn, wearing a T-shirt and underwear. One of her sons was calling for help because the children were still inside.
