Tennessee hires Vollmar as senior associate AD
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Tennessee has hired Mike Vollmar as its senior associate athletics director for football administration.
Vollmar spent the last two years as Michigan’s associate athletic director for football. He held the same position at Alabama from 2008-10. Tennessee athletic director Dave Hart said Thursday in a news release that Vollmar “brings a wealth of firsthand knowledge and expertise to this role.”
Vollmar previously worked in recruiting and administration at Michigan and Syracuse.
Vollmar replaces David Blackburn, who was hired Saturday as Chattanooga’s athletic director.
