Fatal Crash on I-40

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. – A crash Saturday morning in Madison County turned fatal on Interstate 40. Just after 8 a.m. a vehicle with three passengers was heading westbound on I-40, three miles West of Jackson near mile marker 77. That is when the vehicle ran off the road, down an embankment, and hit a tree. The driver, Billy Pirtle, was killed. The two passengers were injured in the crash.
