Final free suspect believed to be in NY state
COWAN, Tenn. (AP) – Authorities in western New York state are looking for a suspect in the March killing of a man found dead in a Tennessee cornfield.
The Chattanooga Time Free Press (http://bit.ly/17vezOW ) reported police in Steuben (stu-BEN’) County, N.Y., said they are searching for 46-year-old David Gordon Jenkins. He formerly lived in Corning, N.Y.
Franklin County, Tenn., Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Chris Guess said U.S. Marshals have focused on the New York region and believe Jenkins is there.
Jenkins is the only one of four suspects still at large in the beating death of Corey Matthews, whose body was found March 24 near Cowan, Tenn.
Sheriff’s investigators said Matthews and all four suspects have ties to the white supremacy group Aryan Nations.
