Generals Return , Team’s Hitting Improving

JACKSON, Tenn. – The Jackson Generals returned to the Hub City to kick of a five game homestand, Wednesday evening. During their road trip to Chattanooga, the squad got a significant boost to their team batting average. That happened thanks, in part, to a 13-run game last week. While the Generals‘ record is below .500, the team is still ranking highly statistically in most categories. Out of the team‘s 14 losses, 10 were one run games. Manager Jim Pankovits said even though many of games have not finished in the team‘s favor, the squad is making the most of the season. “All that I ask is that they play hard and smart, and for the most they’ve done that,” said Generals general manager Jim Pankovits. “You know, I think they’re going to improve as they gain some confidence and have some success which we’ve started doing offensively.” The Generals kicked off their five game series against the Jacksonville Suns Wednesday evening.
