BNA wants remote bag check for conventions
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – With the grand opening of Nashville’s new convention center this month, airport officials are hoping to offer a remote check-in for luggage.
WPLN-FM reports the bags would be checked at the Music City Center, where they would be kept secure and handled by TSA agents.
Nashville Airport Authority CEO Rob Wigington said the service would help keep things moving at the airport. It would also give visitors more free time to do other things in the city.
Nashville’s biggest conferences are still a year away or more, but the average size of events booked at the Music City Center is nearly three times the size of those in the old city-owned convention space.
The grand opening is May 19 and 20.
