UT Garden’s Bloom Days features workshops, music

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — The University of Tennessee Garden’s Bloom Days are coming with specialty plant sales, garden workshops, children’s activities and live music. Visitors also can tour the gardens, with their 4,000 annuals, perennials, herbs, tropical plants, trees, shrubs, vegetables and ornamental grasses. New this year is the HGTV Home Showcase Garden featuring the HGTV Home Plant Collection. Also new is a bonsai show hosted by the Knoxville Bonsai Society, where participants can see prize-winning bonsai and talk with expert bonsai growers. The event runs Saturday and Sunday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are $6 at the gate with children under 12 admitted free. All proceeds benefit the UT Gardens.
