Man suspected in Shreveport slaying arrested

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) – Police say a man suspected in the slaying of a Shreveport man last week has been arrested in Memphis, Tenn.

Shreveport Police spokesman Cpl. Marcus Hines says Memphis Police and agents with the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force arrested 19-year-old Andrew Smith on Sunday. Hines said in a Monday news release that Smith was captured at a home in Memphis after authorities acted on a tip.

Smith was booked, without incident, on an outstanding warrant for second-degree murder in the shooting death of 21-year-old Prentiss Brittion.
