Suspicious Envelopes Reported at Federal Building; Deemed Not Dangerous

JACKSON, Tenn. – Law enforcement and fire crews rushed to Downtown Jackson after a suspicious envelopes were reported to be at the federal building on South Highland Avenue. Crews were called to the building just after 2:30 p.m., Monday. Because the items were not opened, employees remained in the building and are continuing with their daily routine. The FBI has been called to the scene to take over the investigation into the incident. Officials stated that the envelopes that were reported as suspicious were a little thicker than normal, but, when opened, there was no dangerous substances or items inside.
