USJ Students Learn about Culture in Amazing Race

JACKSON, Tenn.- To complete their multi-cultural learning experiences, a fifth grade class at a local elementary school compete in an Amazing Race. The upper elementary students at University School of Jackson raced through Japan, Germany Mexico, France and the United States. They completed their race by answering questions, playing games and tasting foods. Teachers said it was a fun way to wind down their last year on the lower campus. “The kids love playing games and if you can incorporate games in the study of these countries it just helps them to remember everything,” said Sherri Brauss, a 5th grade teacher at USJ. Teachers said the annual event is a fun way for students to learn in an active way.
