Basketball Game Benefits Jerome Ellington Memorial Fund

JACKSON, Tenn.- It is the fourth year for an event dedicated to the memory of a murder victim About one hundred friends and family members came out to play basketball at Jackson Central-Merry High School for the Jerome Ellington Benefit Basketball Game. Ellington was murdered outside of a north Jackson bowling alley four years ago. Organizers hope that the game will become an annual fundraising event. “Jerome was a loving, caring, person, and he always was willing to help others so therefor we want to let his memory live on by doing the same,” said Norma Ellington, mother of Jerome Ellington. Family members they plan to award the scholarships tomorrow.
