Sheriff’s Association Makes Donation to Youth Town

JACKSON, Tenn.- A ministry that works with troubled youth gets some help from sheriffs from across the state today. The Tennessee Sheriffs Association presented a $1,000 donation to Youth Town of Tennessee. Sheriff Brian Duke said the association has been a supporter of the facility in South Madison County for more than three decades. Youth Town, which serves boys ages 12 to 17, was originally called Tennessee Sheriffs’ Youth Town. “We probably spent, I don’t know how many thousands last year on kids we let stay there even though insurance runs out. But if they’re willing to work the program, we let them stay there to complete it,” said Nick Pappas, executive director of Youth Town of Tennessee. Youth Town is a Christian residential drug and alcohol facility.
