Storm Shelter Sales Rise After Disaster

JACKSON, Tenn. – Before the skies turn dark, you will want to have a peace of mind before it’s too late. You either need to be underground or in a storm shelter. “Business has definitely picked up since the Oklahoma storms I mean it’s an eye opener a lot of people family, friends live out there are kinda saying this could happen here as well,” said Michael Ross from Fain Storm Shelters. Business is steady when it comes to the need of storm shelters but those who sell them say the need isn’t always present until the storm passes. “With a tragedy people start sparking interest with that interest that’s where we provide safety not only safety but an insurance company,” said J.D. Favara from West Tennessee Storm Shelters. “Nobody wants one until the storm has all ready hit, nobody wants to prepare ahead of time it’s always after the storm hit that’s everybody is like well, we need one,” said Ross. It may be hard to budget $4,000 to $5,000 with the unknown of when the next storm may hit. Knowing there are options could be the difference between life and death when seconds matter. “The storm shelters we offer are an above ground in your existing garage or car port then we also have an in ground model that goes in an in ground garage and doesn’t take up space,” explained Favara. “Preparedness always is first. If you get one after the storm hits it’s too late you and your family could be gone,” said Ross.
