West TN Law Enforcement to Have Extra Patrols This Weekend

JACKSON, Tenn.-Keeping drivers safe on the roads is the reason you will see more officers on patrol over the Memorial Day holiday. Officers talked to the media today about the importance of wearing safety belts and proper use of child safety seats. Law enforcement will be on the look out for seat belt use as they increase patrols this weekend and conduct sobriety checkpoints. Officers said it is easy to have a safe holiday, just obey the laws on the books. “I just hope we have a quiet weekend. Hopefully everybody will buckle up and get a designated driver if they’re gonna drink and hopefully, I won’t be talking to you Monday about any events that might have taken place over the weekend, said Sgt. Joe Gill of the Madison County Sheriff’s Department. The Memorial Day Weekend travel holiday kicks off Thursday and continues through Monday.
