MCNAIRY COUNTY, Tenn.- A Selmer man is on a two week mission to help tornado victims in Oklahoma. Mickey Keeton told WBBJ 7 Eyewintess News when he saw the damage from Monday’s EF-5 tornado, he knew he had to help. “We just opened our hearts,” said Keeton. “I’m just hoping some of you will too.” Keeton asked his company, Max Trans, to donate a 50 foot trailer for two weeks. The trailer will be set up in the First Baptist Church parking lot in Selmer, where residents can drop off donations. “My husband and I had a bad year.” said Linda Brisentine, who donated several items. “People helped us, and we just want to give back.” All the donations will go to Oklahoma’s Salvation Army. Keeton said Max Trans is paying for the fuel to get to Oklahoma, and he will drive the 18 wheeler to Moore himself. “I don’t have much, but I’ve got time that I can donate,” said Keeton. Abernathy’s in Union City will also be collecting donations for the trailer. Keeton said he plans on hitting the road on June the 9.
