Man Accused of Stealing Beer, Trying to Kick In Door

MADISON COUNTY, Tenn. – A Missouri man is jailed after he allegedly tried to kick in the door to a home and took three beers from a refrigerator outside the home. According to a news release, the Madison County Sheriff‘s Office received a call of a burglary at a residence on Highway 152 on May 25 around 3:00 p.m. Matthew James Gottman, age 31, of Blue Springs, MO, was formally charged with Aggravated Burglary. His arraignment has been scheduled for May 30 in General Sessions Court, Division I, at 8:30 a.m. Bond was set at $75,000.00. Investigators said the resident of the home found the damage and no entry was made into the home itself. Deputies said they have recovered multiple items believed to be from other burglaries or thefts that happened around May 25.
