JACKSON, Tenn. – Jackson-Madison County Schools have decided to move summer school activities out of Tigrett Middle School after that building was damaged in Thursday evening‘s storm. According to Superintendent Buddy White, summer school activities that were planned for Tigrett will now be held at Northeast Middle School. They will resume the schedule on Monday at Northeast. Staff is making the necessary plans and moving necessary equipment for that change, Friday. Supt. White said Tigrett Middle School‘s building suffered fairly extensive roof damage over about six classrooms. They believe the damage was localized to one location on the building and are currently working to limit water damage from continued rain. As soon as the weather breaks, work is expected to begin on repairing the damage and school officials expect the building to be ready for classes in August. No estimated cost for repairs was available, Friday morning.
