Bemis Residents Clean Up After The Storm

BEMIS, Tenn- Residents in one small Jackson community are picking up the pieces after Thursday night’s storm; and one business owner is left to rebuild after a tree struck his barber shop. The tree that pierced through Davis Parlor in Bemis, showed the strength of the storm. “Those winds just really got hard, just bad,” said Michael Foster, a Bemis resident. According to JEA workers, the tree is responsible for dozens of power outages in the area. Not only did it hit the barbershop, but a nearby power line as well. “It was just like a dark cloud over Jackson,” said Foster, of the storm. Residents said it could have been worse. No one was in the business when the tree fell. “Thank goodness it happened at night when everyone was at home,” said Harrison Freshour, a Bemis resident. According to the owner’s wife, they are already making plans to rebuild and appreciate all of the support they have received from the community.
