U.S. Energy Secretary to visit Oak Ridge

OAK RIDGE, Tenn. (AP) – Ernest Moniz, the new U.S. secretary of energy, is making the Oak Ridge National Laboratory his first official trip in office.

Moniz, who was confirmed in May, will be touring the scientific facilities at the Oak Ridge National laboratory on Monday.

Moniz is scheduled to address the National Energy Lab Directors Meeting, see the Y-12 National Security Complex, a nuclear weapons plant, and visit the VULCAN, a research instrument at the Spallation Neutron Source.
