NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – If you want to fish in Tennessee, but don’t have a license, the game warden won’t mind – for one day only.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency says Saturday is the annual Free Fishing Day. Anyone may fish public waters in the state without a fishing license.

The agency sponsors the event to introduce people – especially children – to the fun of fishing. In fact, kids ages 13-15 can continue to fish through Friday, June 14, without a license.

For a list of the events, visit the TWRA website at http://www.tnwildlife.org and the For Anglers section.

The free day applies to all public waters in Tennessee, all TWRA-owned lakes and all state park system lakes.
